Shiraito Falls (Shiraitonotaki)

This waterfall in Karuizawa originates from a rock formation 3 meters high and 70 meters wide, where groundwater cascades beautifully. The spring offers vibrant greenery, summer has cool breezes and mist from the waterfall, and autumn boasts colorful fall foliage.

Kumobaike Pond (Kumobaike)

Also known as ‘Swan Lake,’ Kumobaike Pond offers beautiful scenes reflecting on the water throughout the four seasons. Particularly stunning during the seasons of fresh greenery and fall foliage, the pond is a cherished spot in Karuizawa. A walking path about 1km long surrounds the pond, allowing visitors to leisurely enjoy the scenery.

The ski resort in Karuizawa enjoys a high percentage of clear days in winter and convenient access from urban areas, making it easy for visitors to come. 5.Map Information

Karuizawa is located in Nagano Prefecture and sits at an altitude of about 1,000 meters, which classifies it as a subarctic humid climate. Due to this climate, summers are significantly cooler compared to Tokyo, with an average temperature about 6°C lower. Furthermore, about one-third of the year is covered in mist, adding to the enchanting atmosphere that is one of Karuizawa’s major attractions.
