Facility Guide
Koiwai Farm, located in Iwate Prefecture, is the largest privately-owned integrated farm in Japan. The vast 3,000-hectare site includes dairy cattle breeding facilities, as well as yogurt, cheese, and butter production facilities. In the tourist area, ‘Makiba Park’, you can enjoy nature, interact with animals, savor gourmet food, and shop. In particular, the “Koiwai Milk” and “Koiwai Farm Soft Cream” made with fresh raw milk are recommended gourmet treats. This soft ice cream has a rich flavor but a refreshing aftertaste, making it ideal for a break after a walk.

2.Reviews
Koiwai Farm allows you to experience vast nature and enjoy yogurt and soft ice cream made on the farm. It’s particularly recommended for families with children because you can interact with animals and engage in various activities. Around the May holidays, you can see the “one cherry tree of Koiwai Farm” located 1.5km from Makiba Park. Don’t miss the beautiful cherry blossom scenery with Mt. Iwate in the background.
When I visited Koiwai Farm early in the morning, the ticket office was already crowded. I booked a cow-viewing tour, but it was a bit disappointing because there were so many participants and I couldn’t hear the guide’s voice well. On the other hand, I recommend the tractor ride experience. I felt that this tour alone was worth the visit. Koiwai Farm, where you can enjoy different things depending on the season, was a fascinating place that made me want to visit again.
